Sharing Data to Save Lives

Making vulnerable citizens the priority

This case study showcases how South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue collaborated with Barnsley MBC to implement a data sharing agreement and processes focused on protecting the most vulnerable members of society.

Under the Safe and Well partnership scheme, fire crews constantly make home visits to carry out fire safety checks but often lack the information they need to target resources effectively.

"We were looking for a partner that could help us share data across separate organizations in a secure and compliant way. As a consequence, we now also have a solution that can help integrate our internal systems, and that may help accelerate our digital transformation journey."

- Steven Locking, IT Manager at South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue.
